A LUT is invisible until it's applied — which is why a pack can look immaculate in the marketing and fall apart on your footage. Drop in any .cube and this page shows you the truth: the curves, the cube, the damage on a test chart, and a score out of 100.

What we check
- Banding
- — smooth gradients breaking into visible steps.
- Clipping
- — detail crushed to black or blown to white.
- Hue breaks
- — saturated colours twisting to a different hue.
- Skin drift
- — faces landing outside the range real skin occupies.
- Tone reversal
- — the image darkening where it should brighten.
- Out-of-range output
- — values your NLE has to clamp.
The score only counts defects — things that are wrong in any LUT, in any workflow. Contrast, tint and saturation are creative choices, so they're reported separately as character and never cost you points. A bold look is not a broken one.

Worth knowing
- Rec.709 / sRGB. The test charts cover the Rec.709 range. A wide-gamut LUT (ACES, RedWideGamut) can look strange here simply because the chart can't feed it the colours it expects.
- Log conversions are handled. If you drop in a baked Log-to-Rec.709 conversion, we separate the conversion out and score the grade riding on top of it — scoring the conversion itself against Rec.709 rails would tell a perfectly correct LUT that it's broken.
- Not a replacement for real footage. A test chart is deliberately harsher than a real frame. Use it to find problems, then confirm on your own clips.
